Are you looking for
ways to be more effective in assisting people with their problem?

Want to be part of
        an exciting new treatment process

Then read on:

As the FIT methodology is a new and innovative way to comprehensively treat psychological problems, it is necessary that training and accreditation processes occur so that FIT providers meet the high standards and accountability expected of practitioners today.

The program combines information from several fields of practice, as well as expecting that the gym and group coordinator will act in a cooperative, collaborative and professional manner. This combination of skill, knowledge and perspective are part of the specially designed training program for FIT providers of both disciplines - exercise physiology and group worker counsellor.

Training programs provide:

  • Information about the overall methodology: the specifics of each professional's input and
  • How the two practitioners' approaches are integrated to produce:
    • A decrease in symptomotology,
    • Long- term cognitive change.
  • Practitioners drawn from the professions which provide
    • counselling/groupwork eg social work, psychology. Professions which provide professional indemnity coverage.
    • exercise physiologists; who have an interest in the rehabilitative and group work approaches in the fitness industry
  • Training in group work skills, learning styles of participants, symptomology and behaviour patterns of specific conditions
  • Eligible professionals must have a minimum of 2 years experience as a practitioner in their field.

It is intended that providers will be accredited to meet FIT standards of practice. Plans are under way for these programs to be accredited as National Training Programs by the appropriate bodies.

If you would like further information about becoming an accredited provider or information to enable your staff to be trained and accredited, contact us.
